1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Pod21, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use Pod21.

2. What Pod21 Does

Pod21 connects people who need 3D prints ("Customers") with independent 3D printing providers ("Providers"). We help with:

  • Uploading and analyzing 3D model files
  • Automated slicing and print time estimation
  • Finding and connecting with Providers
  • Processing payments via Bitcoin Lightning
  • Order tracking and communication via Nostr

3. Beta Notice

Pod21 is currently in beta. Things might break, change, or disappear. Use at your own risk. We're building in public and appreciate your patience.

4. Your Responsibilities

For Customers:

  • You're responsible for making sure your files and requested prints are legal in your jurisdiction
  • Provide accurate shipping information
  • Don't upload files containing malware or malicious code
  • Verify that the intended use of printed objects is legal where you live

For Providers:

  • You're responsible for ensuring prints comply with laws in your jurisdiction and the recipient's
  • You can refuse any order at your discretion
  • Fulfill accepted orders in a timely manner
  • Provide accurate tracking information when shipping
  • You're responsible for print quality and materials used

5. Prohibited Content

Don't upload, request, or produce:

  • Objects that are illegal to manufacture, possess, or distribute in the applicable jurisdiction
  • Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Files designed to harm systems or people
  • Anything that violates local, national, or international law

Providers can refuse any order. We may remove content or suspend access for violations.

6. Payments and Fees

All payments go through Bitcoin Lightning via BTCPay Server.

  • Platform Fee: Pod21 takes a 5% fee on all transactions
  • Provider Payout: Providers receive 95% after successful delivery
  • Payment Finality: Bitcoin transactions are irreversible by design
  • Prices: All prices are displayed in sats

7. Refunds

Because of how Bitcoin works and custom manufacturing:

  • If no Provider accepts your order, you get a refund minus network transaction fees
  • Once a Provider starts printing, refunds are at their discretion
  • Disputes between Customers and Providers should be resolved directly
  • We may help mediate but aren't obligated to issue refunds for completed orders

8. Data and Privacy

By using Pod21, you consent to:

  • 3D Files: Files are processed for slicing and analysis. Stored temporarily for order fulfillment
  • Shipping Data: Encrypted at rest, shared only with your Provider
  • Nostr Identity: Your npub is used for auth and communication. Public keys are public by design
  • Messages: Order notifications sent via encrypted Nostr DMs

We encrypt sensitive data. Information shared with Providers is necessary for fulfillment.

9. Intellectual Property

  • You keep all rights to files you upload
  • You grant Pod21 a limited license to process files for service delivery only
  • You confirm you have the right to print files you upload
  • We don't verify IP rights - that's on you

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Pod21 is a marketplace - we're not a party to transactions between Customers and Providers
  • We're not liable for quality, safety, or legality of printed items
  • We're not liable for damages from using the platform
  • We're not liable for Provider actions, delays, or delivery failures
  • We're not liable for loss of funds due to user error or technical issues
  • Total liability shall not exceed platform fees on the relevant transaction

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraud
  • Abuse the platform or other users
  • Try to circumvent platform fees

You can stop using Pod21 anytime. There are no accounts to delete - your Nostr identity remains yours.

12. Decentralization and Law

Pod21 operates as a decentralized network. There's no single jurisdiction governing the platform.

  • Users and Providers are subject to laws in their own jurisdictions
  • It's your job to comply with local laws about 3D printing, Bitcoin, and commerce
  • Disputes should follow laws applicable to the parties involved

13. Changes

We may update these Terms anytime. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms. Check back occasionally.
